Suffering Through The Bad Days. Turning that thought around!
Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:16PM Do you feel like you are never going to reach that business goal, reduce that pant size, or tone your abs?
Maybe all 3?
The tedious habits we must attain to reach our goals are ones we must suffer through and make them into the kind of thoughts and habits we will just do without question or thinking.
You and I both know we must not have the ‘bad for you’ name brand cookies and chocolate bars and choose a healthier alternative. We both know that extra stretch, walk up the stairs instead of the elevator, or a few extra laps in the pool are going to do wonders but it’s tediousness wears us down when it feels like nothing is getting better.
This isn’t depression I am feeling. It’s a problem I have with assuming I know what is going to happen. I do not know the end. I know the goal. I have set it in my faith and I am striving for it’s achievement. Self healing is wrought with unknowns.
(Writer’s note: I stopped here to get my ass out of this funk and did a 45 minute Qi Gong workout. That’s 3 long starting postures like Wuji Swimming Dragon, Dragon Pearl, and Bagua Xun Dao Gong and then only the First and Last Wuji Qigong movements and then the Shaolin Qigong closing movements to relieve all areas of the body and to finally release all the excess Qi. I knew when I hesitated this morning that I was wrong. A part of my brain knows it needs a full routine on Sunday morning because it keeps me centered and focused as if I were a part of that center of energy that made all of us. Well…that’s for another discussion. One said under the stars, with a lot of home brew coursing the veins. But in more certain terms, Yoga and Qigong throw away the Sunday blahs and I look forward to the week. WJR)
So I am refreshed and it is 4:35pm on Sunday. I said that self healing is filled with unknowns. Do not take it lightly if you are already so full of prescriptions and are another slave to the medicine counter. Changing your routine will have many withdrawals, after affects, and perhaps death. Follow your doctor’s care but make sure you question the reason’s why you are on something. Your doctor may be well trained but most western medicine is less than 400 years old. See if your HMO or hospital has a Chinese physician who is trained in both sides of the world. To me that is a more affective way to go about reducing your dependency and increasing your responsibility to heal yourself.
I started this post today with a terrible feeling of being behind. After my Qigong, protein, smoothie, chocolate, spelt, and grains, I realize I am ahead because my life is something I control. I set the path, the tone, and my attitude. I am the one to make my better tomorrow because I choose to make my life great each day.
Thank you for reading,
Bill
