Why Do I Feel Down After Letting the Excess Qi Go, Raw Milk, Green Smoothies (Update)
Monday, May 25, 2009 at 11:48PM There is such a frustration after relieving my body of the excess Qi. I feel, “Hey that’s my Qi, come back here!”
I know that it may seem silly but the masters who have done Qigong for a million years, that’s right, a million, know what I am feeling and could tell me why.
My common sense says it’s a matter of power and a sense of control. I am happy to note that I know it is an illusion of control and my body does not want to see it go. Letting it go is far more powerful because of the sense of union with the Center. I have been taught enough that free and excess Qi causes enormous consequences and illusions of grandeur. Same thing that happens when free radicals are loose in your body.
Both do not belong there and are easily removed. One with proper finishing exercises and the other with antioxidants.
This is just a quick note as I finish Qigong, make a fresh batch of nut and cashew milk and do 30 minutes of Pa Kua circles.
The cashew milk was inspired by a good friend to all raw foodies, Tali 'Kombucha' Clavijo. He did a video of a raw food chef in Santa Monica who made a hemp and nut milk with fresh coconut milk, and fresh dates.
There is nothing like the taste and sweetness of fresh dates. The best place to pick up organic dates up in Manchester,NH is at A-Market on South Willow St.
I also have an incredibly inexpensive place to pick up those large young coconuts with the husk already peeled. The ones you need a large cleaver to open.
These are known as the perfect IV drip and were used as such during World War II. Anyway right down the hill from me is Saigon Market and these coconuts come peeled like in the picture above, wrapped in plastic, and kept in the store’s cooler. They are $1.50 each and three of them with all the delicious soft coconut meat scooped out produced 45 oz of coconut milk.
I blended it all for 3 minutes until it was all smooth, thick, and frothy. I set it aside.
I then took a cup of raw cashews, 1/2 c of raw golden flax seeds, 1/2 c of raw sunflower seeds, and 1/2 c of raw sesame seeds and ground them in my spice/coffee grinder. (A-Market bulk section. Incredibly reasonable)
I then blended the dates, pits removed, coconut milk and seeds above with 4 tablespoons of raw agave.
This produces a very thick mixture that I had to add 4 cups of pure water to. I ended up with 2 quarts of this milk which will be my smoothie base for the week since I use approx 8-9 oz at a time. There is no joking when I say that 2 hrs later the flax seed thickened and I had to add more water, further extending the milk with no diminishing of flavor. So good. You can really feel it soon after drinking.
Also I want to tell you about my kale, spinach and apple smoothies as well as my kale, apple and carrot smoothies. I do not juice any of it anymore so I don’t miss out on all that natural fiber. Add ice into the blender and they are cold and so healthy for you. Carrots can be blended easily if you cut them in half lengthwise and then again and have the vitamix or blender running full blast as you add them. I love it and your body will too.
I need to tell you I cheated saturday, big time! Two ribs , smoked for half a day and lightly smothered in BBQ sauce. I am paying for it now and wish I never ate it but it was good. But you know what, I think I can live without red meat from now on. It simply is too much for my body and doesn’t feel good an hour later. Update: It did not feel good a day later.
I am going to find ways to eat some raw meat like carrapacio, a way the Italians make it and I love raw fish but I have had enough of food without value. My life is worth the changes I have made and I love myself a whole lot more. Homemade beef jerky is dehydrated raw meat right?
Last minute update: 11:51pm Memorial Day 5/25 – I must tell you of something that is of such importance to me as it justifies all the yoga, Qigong, and Pa kua I practice. Yesterday and today I played Frisbee with my boys and I was running all over the field without getting winded. I know I weigh less than last year or years past but running? Sprinting is more like it. An hour yesterday and an hour and a half today. That is so awesome! I didn’t know the ancients were so smart. Thank you China for giving me those arts and letting me run with my boys.
Update for 05/28/2009:
My Raw Herbed Nuts
I needed a snack and sometimes the natural taste of raw cashews and almonds is not enough so I took a 1/2 cup of raw whole cashews and 1/2 cup of raw almonds (both from Trader Joes and $4.95/lb) and put them into a small container.
I added 2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil and 1/2 tsp of MySpiceSage.Com’s Italian Dressing Seasoning.
The website name is right on the picture or combine ingredients as listed from your own pantry.
Then close the lid and shake lightly for a minute and enjoy. They taste so good. No heat applied. They are still raw and delicious. I thought you needed to know.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks Kim. I need to get my thick chocolate avocado smoothie on here soon. It's like pudding and tastes so good. Oh and it's raw
It's funny, but I don't miss red meat, either. But--that may change the first time I see steak sitting on a grill. I love coconut milk--yours one sounds delicious!
